I'm a pretty simple, easy-going person who has an affinity for both the simple and finer, complicated things in life, such as wine, the Sims 2, Starbucks, American politics, good novels, and being a full-time college student. I'm currently a college senior pursuing a degree in political science at a state university in the Midwest, and hope to move to Washington, DC, for both my first post-college job and a graduate degree in legislative affairs OR political management (I haven't decided) next year. I'm easy to get along with, despite my being neurotic and difficult, at times just ask my family and friends. My friends and family love me in spite of my liberal views, stubborn nature, and affinity for debate and argument.
My passions in life are not as simple as some of my other interests, and a few of them are undeniably controversial. I support abortion, gay marriage, abolishing capital punishment, affirmative action, stem cell research, and more federal funding for social programs, and yes, in that exact order. I think the rights and equal treatment of women and ethnic minorities in the US are the two biggest issues I'm passionate about, and will do everything I can to even things up. I'm also an advocate for international human rights, and it is my personal belief that if a person is fortunate enough to not live in a Third World country, they have an obligation to help improve the lives of those who do. Yes, I'm decidedly Democrat, and I'm not ashamed.
And that, dear friends, is me in a nutshell.
